The Jameson Whiskey Experience in Dublin & Middleton, are two of Ireland's leading visitor attractions welcoming over 350,000 visitors a year. The distilleries were restored to their former glory over a decade ago and as visitor centres have won major international tourism awards.
Both centres began operating with just a diary for managing reservations but this was soon upgraded to an installed software system in 1997. However by 2004, the volume of business across the two centres was such that a more sophisticated system was required which could provide greater flexibility, speed and reporting capabilities.
After a lenghty selection process, Irish Distillers selected Visrez, a hosted solution which meant out-sourcing all the maintenance and support of the management system to a partner. This was a new departure for the company who previously insisted on retaining complete control over all IT applications. By choosing Visrez they removed the hassles and added costs which usually accompany installed software.

Visrez went live in the Dublin at the height of the summer season and in Midleton in September. The impact was immediate, both centres were able to manage trade reservations, admissions & ticketing and reporting using a thin client, web-based platform. The management team could focus on running the centres at a greater level of efficiency, productivity and profitability. By going live quicker, the client was able to see the benefits faster than traditional software installations. This system has been further developed to include online ticket and gift sales, selling Jameson products worldwide.
